We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Group Accountant to join our newly established Swiss headquarters in Lucerne. This role is responsible for local statutory compliance, Swiss GAAP FER accounting, tax filings, and liaison with Swiss authorities. The Swiss Accountant will work closely with the Head of Group Finance (based in China) and the China-based shared service team (which handles AP, AR, and treasury tasks remotely), as well as the full‑function accountant based in the German branch of the Swiss company. Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across time zones and cultures are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Filing & Compliance
- Prepare and file all Swiss corporate income tax returns, VAT returns (including import/export VAT), and withholding tax declarations on time.
- Monitor tax deadlines and ensure compliance with cantonal and federal requirements.
- Support the Head of Group Finance during tax audits and correspond with the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (SFTA) and cantonal tax authorities.
- Perform day-to-day accounting (including investment accounting) operations for the Swiss entity, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and confirmations.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for the Swiss entity under Swiss GAAP FER.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory financial statements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support the annual audit process.
- Manage the fixed asset register for the Lucerne office, including capitalization, depreciation, stock-taking and disposal of assets.
- Ensure compliance with Swiss GAAP FER requirements for fixed asset accounting.
- Work closely with the Head of Group Finance (China) to report on Swiss financials, tax positions, and compliance matters.
- Coordinate with the China‑based shared service team (AP, AR, treasury) to ensure accurate and timely processing of Swiss transactions.
- Partner with the German branch accountant to align on intercompany transactions, cost allocations, and group reporting.
- Act as the primary contact for the Swiss Commercial Register, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies.
- Handle statutory filings, registrations, and notifications for the Swiss entity.
Support the Head of Group Finance with restructuring activities, transfer pricing documentation, and other projects as assigned
